About the Online Activist School

WHO: The Alliance for Global Justice online training school offers activists and organizers of all ages online courses by expert instructors on the subjects of activist skills building, US militarism and grassroots organizing against neoliberalism, racism, sexism and all forms of injustice.
WHY: Our five week courses, taken in the comfort of your own home, will cover the history, philosophy, economics and politics of US militarism and anti-oppression strategies and tactics to build a peaceful and just society. Other courses will cover the range of skills activists need to become effective organizers.
HOW: Since the Fall of 2011, activists have been offered courses on the popular and accessible Moodle education platform used by many schools and universities. Course material will include readings, videos, lectures and discussions, all online, which can be completed at the students’ own pace during the time allotted. Successful completion of each course will earn the student a Letter of Recognition. Successful completion of four courses will earn the student a non-accredited Peace & Justice Organizer Training Certificate.
COST: Tuition for courses is $200 for each courses. Students are encouraged to seek funding from their local peace and justice, community club, or anti-war organization and to share the knowledge they learn with their community, one of the way to move from being an activist to being an organizer.
MORE INFORMATION: Course instructors will have the highest academic and progressive movement credentials and many will have years of activist training experience. Send an email to info@AFGJ.org if you are interested in receiving course announcements or if you are interested in offering a course. Instructors will be paid a base fee plus bonuses for additional students. Course proposals on any aspect of US militarism, anti-oppression and peacemaking as well as activist skill training are encouraged.
