When Threats and Economic Blackmail Fail, US Sponsored Coups Follow

The workshop entitled “When Threats and Economic Blackmail Fail, US Sponsored Coups Follow” at the LASC Militarization Conference focused on Haiti, Honduras & Venezuela with speakers representing each of those countries, but with emphasis on US policy that is common to all three of these countries as well as its potential to lead to similar events in other countries in Latin America. A Visit Inside Colombia’s Most Notorious Prison, La Tramacúa

I called Raquel Mogollón just minutes after she had come from a rare visit inside the pavilions of Colombia’s most notorious prison, the High Security Penitentiary of Valledupar, commonly known as La Tramacúa. Mogollón is the Chair of the Alliance for Global Justice (AFGJ) Colombia Committee and a member of the International Network in Solidarity with the Political Prisoners (INSPP). We have received a number of letters of interest from an exciting set of instructors for our new online activist school. Our instructor and course selection committee will be reviewing these materials late next week.
