Honduras Solidarity Delegation

On November 29, elections were carried out amidst de facto military rule in Honduras. For months the country has suffered media censorship, widespread human rights violations including, and brutal repression. International presence will be of utmost importance in the coming months. Meeting in Tegucigalpa or San Petro Sula, the group will hear from the popular resistance movement and human rights groups, visit political prisoners and threatened communities and document human rights abuses. This delegation is being organized by the Task Force on the Americas and led by Andres Conteris, who recently left the Brazilian Embassy in Honduras after accompanying President Zelaya for 5 months. Tour of Latin American Labor Leaders

The tour of the trade union leaders from five Latin-America countries (Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador) is coming to different cities across the US. Each leader will present about their country. After we will have discussions and an exchange of ideas on the issues that most affect the workers in all of our countries including health, economic crisis, education, the environment, etc., in hopes of enriching our knowledge and finding new solutions to the challenges confronting workers today.
