Nicaragua is a world leader in gender equality. In just 15 years, Nicaragua has closed the gender gap by more than 80%. Today, Nicaragua is the number one country in the world for educational attainment for women and girls, number one for women cabinet ministers and number three in the world for women in parliament. How has this small Central American country made such a difference in such a short time? Join us to explore Nicaragua and find out!

Brigade Activities:

  • Meet with women in parliament
  • Talk with women entrepreneurs
  • Explore programs benefitting women in health, education & infrastructure
  • Visit women’s worker-owned co-ops
  • Learn about Nicaragua’s fight to end violence against women

Alliance for Global Justice and its project the Nicaragua Network are teaming up with Casa Benjamin Linder, a solidarity cultural center and education project of the Jubilee House Community-Center for Development in Central America to sponsor this important delegation to Nicaragua.

This Delegation has both virtual and in-person components. More information on the online classrooms to come soon!
