Since November 2020, Ethiopia has been the subject of a proxy war led by the former Government of the TPLF. Despite an overwhelming electoral victory in June 2021 by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s Prosperity Party, which won 410 out of the 436 contested seats in Ethiopia’s federal parliament, the war continues with the support of the west accusing 2019 Nobel Peace Prize winner Abiy Ahmed, of genocide and human rights violations. The neighboring Eritrea which made peace with Ethiopia in 2018 is brought to task for alleged crimes. Find out about these issues and the need for lasting peace in the Horn of Africa.
