Venezuela & ALBA News: Reports on ALBA Countries Summit and World Gathering for a Social Alternative

Important article  – Resumen Latinoamericano: The {CIA] Managers of Chaos in Venezuela  An interview with Cuban journalist Raúl Antonio Capote, former double agent who infiltrated the CIA and author of “Guarimbas. Los gestores del caos” (Guarimbas. The managers of chaos). ”Venezuela is a classic case of how unconventional wars are really fought today… Honestly speaking, very few people in the continent believed [after Chavez’ death] there could be a substitute capable of giving continuity to the Bolivarian Revolution. Very few people believed in the Venezuelan people’s capacity to resist and above all Nicolás Maduro’s capacity to withstand the avalanche that came upon him; mainly the US government and the CIA pulling the strings from the US” Much of the interview explains the evolution of the US color revolution strategy, from Europe to Latin America, but most ot it covers CIA operations against Maduro.

“The famous Arab Spring was prepared and developed, a whole process in Tunisia and later what happened against Libya and Gaddafi, which is a classic example. It is necessary to study what happened in the Arab world, what happened in Europe; because it gives you the measure of how they were developing and how they were learning from each of the places where they were executing this type of war, and how they were perfecting it.”

Peoples Dispatch: Caracas Meeting of World Gathering for a Social Alternative  Hundreds of members of trade unions, people’s movements, and left political parties from across the world attended. During the first two days of debate and discussion, panelists and participants discussed the pressing tasks of the left and progressive movements to organize the masses and confront the climate crisis, the rise of the right, imperialist attacks, and fortify internationalist solidarity. Speakers also emphasized the relationship between progressive governments and political projects and mass movements, and the need for greater levels of coordination and support.

ALBA-TCP.org: Vice President of Venezuela: the huge imperial threat is either defeated or it defeats us During the World Social Alternative, Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez said, ““the dangers and threats to humanity are currently very serious. Given the current context of the world, we are extremely concerned about the real threats facing humanity, which is capitalism; the climate situation is the product of a predatory model such as capitalism”. Rodríguez highlighted that 31% of the countries in the world are today subject to unilateral coercive measures, with the aim of extorting. “They intend to rule Venezuela through licenses, that blackmail that outrages but also makes us laugh a lot (…) no rude and barbaric empires stop Venezuela”.

Orinoco Tribune: ALBA-TCP Summit of Heads of State Concludes & Issues Declaration President Maduro reported there were “three conceptual, doctrinal, and action documents.” The first was the joint declaration containing 22 points [below], including strongly condemning “any effort to establish new forms of domination in the region,” and reiterated is defense of the “the right to live within a continent free of imperial hegemony”; and the urgent need to coordinate mechanisms of effective cooperation and solidarity with the people of Haiti. The second concerned Palestine: “We reiterate the call to the international community to impose an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and to stop the genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity against its population, which violate the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter, international law, and international humanitarian law.” Statement is here. Tass: Bolivian leader decries fresh US military aid for Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan  “Threats to peace on the planet have lately increased as the United States moved to provide $95 billion in aid to support Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. This clearly shows continued attempts to destabilize Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia,” Arce said at the ALBA Summit. That funding, he maintained, should have been channeled into “the fight against famine, poverty and equality.” Instead of pursuing “the policy of diplomacy and dialogue,” the United States opts for “continued war and militarism.”

Prensa Latina: US escalates hybrid warfare against Bolivia The Bolivian Foreign Ministry denounced the US for promoting hybrid warfare against the country when leaked information from the US embassy in La Paz confirmed a plan to split the Movement towards Socialism (MAS) in the 2025 general elections. According to the Center for Multidisciplinary Geopolitical Studies, this project is aimed at the recolonization of Latin America, and regarding Bolivia, to appropriate its natural resources such as lithium, iron, rare earths, and aquifers.

TeleSur: Venezuela holds National Popular Consultation and here  In the 24 states of the country there are 4,500 communes, each of which proposed several social projects, totaling about 25,000. The projects to be chosen are aimed at sectors such as health, education, food, security, the environment, public services and the economy, which will be financed by the government and implemented by the organized communities themselves. Carried out through over 15,000 voting centers, this democratic process allowed residents to decide on 4,500 development projects that the Venezuelan government will finance and the communities will execute, starting next week. During election day, over 49,000 communal councils were active, participating in audits and collaborating in the scrutiny.

Granma: Speech by Cuba President Díaz at the XXIII ALBA-TCP Summit in Caracas “Fidel, so precise and fair in his words, defined Chávez as “the best friend the Cuban people had throughout its history…. In 2014, in the face of facts as serious as those that outrage us today, the Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, left the following written: “The genocide of the Nazis against the Jews reaped the hatred of all the peoples of the Earth. Why does the government of that country believe that the world will be insensitive to this macabre genocide that today is being committed against the Palestinian people? Is it expected to ignore how much complicity there is on the part of the North American empire in this shameless massacre?” That is why I insist that all the peoples of the world should make the Palestinian cause their own…. We have proposed, through CELAC, the creation of a Single International Solidarity Fund for Haiti’s Recovery, which would draw on contributions from the international community and address the priorities of the Haitian people.  International banking institutions should channel contributions to this fund.  Haiti’s debt should be cancelled.”

Democracy Now: Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister: Deliberate U.S. Policy of “Destroying Cuban Economy” Drives Migration “The United States does not have — and no country has — a more comprehensive system of economic coercive measures against any country, nor has it been applied for as long as it has been applied against Cuba, which is over 63, 64 years ago. And if you just look at the asymmetry between the two countries, the size of the U.S. economy and the modest dimensions of the Cuban economy, you can try to understand the impact it has. It is a policy of economic warfare, trying to destroy not only the Cuban economy, but the system of social justice on which depends the well-being of the majority of Cubans.”
