Call or Email WOLA Today to Protest Their Statement on Venezuela!

Friends,

We urge you to call or write the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA) to protest their interventionist statement,  issued on the eve of the April 10-11 Summit of the Americas, repeating US slanders against the government of Venezuela.

The statement/op-ed is here:

http://fpif.org/strengthening-multilateral-defense-of-human-rights-in-the-americas/

The op-ed statement repeats false accusations  of “harrassment of human rights defenders” and suggests Venezuela needs “help” to “find a path to democratic stability and respect for human rights”.

It is important they hear from us because WOLA is considered by liberals in Congress to be the authoritative voice on Latin America. As such, their position is much more dangerous than those of admitted right-wing organizations.

The statement is co-signed by PROVEA and other USA/Western funded NGOs in Venezuela.

We are happy to note that the countries of Latina American and the Caribbean have already unanimously condemned  U.S. sanctions against Venezuela and have also unanimously called on President Obama to revoke his Executive Order calling Venezuela an “extraordinary threat to U.S. national security.”

Related reference material and WOLA contact information  is below.

Please call  or email today and let WOLA know we object to their distortions and parroting of US State Department allegations.

Muchas Gracias Amigos,

Chuck Kaufman, Alliance for Global Justice

Stan Smith, Chicago ALBA Solidarity Committee

Roger Harris, President, Task Force on the Americas
