Finally, Florida judge withdraws all charges against Álex Saab three months after his release

This Friday Florida Judge Robert Scola signed the final dismissal of all charges against the Colombian-Venezuelan diplomat Alex Saab, who was kidnapped, incarcerated and tortured by the U.S. prison system for several years for sending food, fuel and medicine to Venezuela during the pandemic, circumventing deadly U.S. sanctions against the Venezuelan people.

The document below explains that under the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure and with the authorization of the Court, the United States “dismisses without prejudice the indictment against the defendant ALEX NAIN SAAB MORAN, […] pursuant to an Executive Grant of Clemency signed by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., on December 15, 2023.”

On December 20, 2023, Saab landed in Caracas and received in Miraflores by President Maduro.
